I have gone through major depression myself to the point of wanting to commit suicide. It was only through medical help, psychiatric help, and reliance on God that I made it through. Even when it seems like God doesn't care He still does and will use people and circumstances of life to get us through. Regardless of what some people may say there is nothing wrong with medications...remember God gave the people who invented these medications the knowledge to do so. He also gives doctors and therapists wisdom to help us as well. For me personally, it is 5 years later and I'm still on medication, a small dose, and I still see my therapist. Also too, if the person you are working with doesn't seem to be a fit stay with them until you find a better match. There will be times you don't agree with what they say or do but don't give up. I'll be praying for you.

I have been in the same boat as you. Sometimes it is so hard for our family and lovedones to understand what we are going through. If they have never been depressed they find it hard to understand. And please don't beleive that the lord has forgotten you. I have been through depression. I have been at the edge of suicide. I beleive that sometimes there is a path that we have to take. You will only be stronger and love yourself even more when you get through this.
I was lucky and had a very good counselor that I was seeing and she made me accountable to her. I had to promise her that I would not do any thing drastic. And that actually made me aware of the seriousness of the matter. You should tell someone in your church. I know when you are really depressed and people tell you to pray it may feel like an empty response or like they think you are weak. That is not it at all. Like I said people who have never been in your position don't understand. They want to be able to tell you what to do about your problem and that just be it. My counselor once told me "There is only one person that you can control and that is YOU!!" And if you remember that it helps. It helped me, it still does. All you can do is just be true to yourself. That is all. The lord has a path for us. This si something that I think about often, did you know that when a caterpillar changes into a butterfly that it goes through a great struggle to get out of the cacoon. And it has to, if it is helped out of the cacoon, it will die. The struggle forces the blood out to the wings. So think of yourself as a caterpillar and you are going through this struggle to turn into a beautiful butterfly. I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this message. However, if you dont, I would recommend a mental health consultation. As a mental health professional, who truly believes in the power of God, I am always blown away when brothers and sisters write in about mental health concerns and are told to shake it off of pray it away. I have never seen this advice given to anyone with a physical ailment. I would like to say that depression and other mental health concerns are real illnesses and should be treated with the same diligence as you would a physical concern. Depression is very serious as there are times when you feel suicidal and can act on those feelings. Depressions is not simply the blues. It is an ILLNESS. You should speak to a mental health professional ASAP. Sometimes depression is situational and speaking to a supportive professional can help. Other times it can be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and should be treated with medication. Please speak to your doctor, who should be able to make an appropriate referral. If you cant speak to your MD, look up mental health professionals in your area. Good luck and God bless.

I believe GOD is going to use you for HIS work, I know what it's like to have major depression & I know how GOD turned it all around for good!!
Please draw near to GOD & do not let go!!
GOD will not let you down!!
TRUST in HIM with all your heart!! PROVERBS 3 :5-6!
GOD has not left you alone!
You must believe!! you must believe HIM & HIM alone.
HE will send someone to encourage & love you with the love that only comes from our living GOD!!
THE LORD'S perfect will be done in your life I pray now & always!!
Do not give up on GOD, HE will NEVER! give up on you, trust HIM! HE has only just started to do a great & wonderful work in you & HE will not stop, HIS will will be done!!

I am sorry you are feeling this way, but it happens to many people at times. Remember the poem, Footprints in the Sand? Remember the man saw only one set of footprints and asked God why he abandoned him during the times he needed him the most? And God answered, "Those were the times I carried you."
God has not abandoned you, but is carrying you through this time. I will pray that you will feel His love and care and He will help you overcome this depression.
