That's true. Men, sadly, tend to come and go...but sisters (this includes all females close to your heart) are forever. Every sister you have is a square for your own personal life quilt. Don't forget your sisters, and always seek more to make your quilt large enough to keep you safe and warm when storms are near.

When I first signed on, it was for friendship and penpals only. I sent a few smiles, and got a similar response to yours, something like, "Not interested; God bless you in your search," leading me to think that they thought I was looking for something more, or maybe they had run across too many women who were looking for something more and something "now." In any case, I stopped sending smiles, so if I correspond with anyone, it is they who initiate it. It has worked out just fine!

It is indeed difficult to be friendly to members of the opposite sex with no strings attached. There always seem to be a suspiction that there is more to it. I think many of us are too narrow in our thinking.
Just recently I decided to send birthday greetings to everyone having birthdays on a particular day. This I did without looking at age, race, color, profile or anything. I just decided to be nice.
one would think that I would get a thank you smile or something. Many of the females responded. Only one male replied. His response was something like this "I think I've found a special friend. May God bless you in your search also." I must say I was really surprised. It seems once you say "Hi" to a member of the opposite sex it is interpreted to mean that you are seeking a relationship with them. Sometimes, I send welcome notes to new members and If I get replies from the males, it is usually a similar response.
As human beings, we need each other, not only in an intimate sense, we need friends. Casual friends with no strings attached. I wish society would allow it to happen that way, but it seems impossible.

I have had two very nice ladies reply to my invitation to be penpals. One lives near me and the other farther away. I am enjoying talking to both of them. I am learning a lot from them. I would encourage each of you to find friends on this site. You might broaden your horizons and find someone to share your thoughts and dreams or maybe your ups and downs.
I am thankful for my two new friends.

I want to say that I agree with you. When I signed up to this website it was to find a special relationship. I have since had a change of heart and am looking for someone to correspond with. I think that we not only need special relationships with opposite sex but God wants us to have friends of the same sex to do things with and to talk to.
